ABSTRACT:
In this talk we will give an introduction to the shared random effects models for the joint analysis of longitudinal and time-to-event data. First, we will show situations where such joint model can be applied to. We will then illustrate our model by examples. A simple estimation method by SAS Proc NLMIXED will be demonstrated. This introductory talk helps clarify confusions in the joint modeling of longitudinal and time-to-event data, making such models more accessible to general statistical practitioners.
